Hi all,
First post here, hoping someone with board-level experience can point me in the right direction.
We use Samsung Galaxy S7 and S25 devices in permanent 24/7 operation (industrial application, always connected to mains power). Batteries kept in this state tend to swell over time, so we’d like to run these units without a battery installed, powered purely through the charging port.
Problem: without the battery, the BMS shuts the device down. We’ve tried basic capacitor workarounds to fake a stable voltage, but the phone still won’t stay on – seems like it also needs the fuel-gauge/auth communication, not just voltage.
Has anyone here solved this before (battery eliminator / bypass board, reused battery flex, or similar)? Any pointers, schematics, or leads on someone who’s done this for Samsung devices would be hugely appreciated.
We’re also open to paying for a proper solution or a small dev job if someone here has already cracked this.
Thanks in advance!
